Honey Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup softened butter

  • 1 cup corn syrup

  • 6 tablespoons liquid honey

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 7 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted

  • 2 cups cake flour

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup milk

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350° F

  • Grease two 9-inch square cake pans, and dust with flour

  • Mix together the softened butter, corn syrup and honey. Beat well.

  • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  • Add vanilla and chocolate to batter, and mix well.

  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt, and add to the batter, alternately with the milk.

  • Place the mixture in two greased and dusted 9-inch square baking pans.

  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
